Hilden donate 1000 blankets to homelessness charity

Lancashire linen specialist Hilden has recently been involved in a fantastic opportunity to help raise awareness and money for charities helping those who are facing homelessness. Based in Lancashire, Hilden, part of HLL Linens, is the UK’s leading supplier of linen products and related services to the UK and European textile rental sectors. Hilden was approached by Mark Woolfenden, Managing Director of Afonwen Laundry Limited, who has recently taken part in the Sleepout Cardiff Event which took place this month. A generous donation of 1000 blankets to the sponsored charities was made by Hilden in light of the event. Frances Beecher, Chief Executive of Llamau, a leading homelessness charity in Wales said: “Thank you on behalf of all at Llamau for your recent donation of 1000 blankets. As I’m sure you can imagine these blankets will be really useful for the young people and women we support, enabling them to save on energy bills and stay warm when the nights are cold.”

The event had over 60 CEO and business leaders giving up the comfort of their beds for the night and sleeping outside, with the use of only sleeping bags. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the circumstances of homelessness and provide financial support to organisations that: address the hidden causes of homelessness by supporting those most at risk; help individuals progress from homelessness to a more secure, positive future and support people who are homeless and those faced with severe hardship. The target has been set at £70,000 to be raised by all CEOs involved and currently the amount raised stands at £63,000 and growing.

For further details on the event check out their website: If you are interested in making a donation you can do so on the Just Giving site here:, all proceeds will go straight to the charity.
